Supported by the Council of Independent Colleges Humanities Research for the Public Good Initiative (2022), Lasting Legacies: Franklin College 'Spirit of Community' celebrates the diverse perspectives and experiences of its members and their contributions to the broader public good.
Within this collection lie subcollections specific to the legacies of Franklin College. Whether alumni, faculty, staff, or friend, these individuals' contributions to the broader pubic good are highlighted. Materials in this collection include oral histories, news articles, images, and other associated materials.
Coinciding with the bicentennial of Franklin, Indiana; Johnson County, class of 2024 student researchers Maxwell Johnson, Josie Lyons, and Jack Sells, launched this collection under the mentorship of Meredith Clark-Wiltz, Professor of History/Director of American Studies, and Jessica Mahoney '96, Director of Library Services & Assessment. Betsy Schmidt '85, Director of Academic Partnerships, provided administrative support for this project.
Community partners at the Indiana Historical Society and the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana provided direction, technical support, and resources.
