Judi Warren, class of 1980, was named Indiana's first Miss Basketball her senior year of high school for her contributions to Warsaw High School's state-championship-winning girls' basketball team. Warren then matriculated at Franklin College in 1976, where she was a part of the basketball and field hockey teams. Franklin's women's basketball team, coached by Ruth Ann Doub Callon, class of 1952, won three state championships during Warren's time. Warren graduated in 1980 and her first job out of college was teaching physical education at South Dearborn High School. Eventually, Warren started coaching in addition to teaching, with much success coming in the 1994-95 season when she led Carmel High School to the state championship.
