Robert Chip Harrod of Cincinnati, Ohio graduated from Franklin College in 1970 with an undergraduate degree in history. While at Franklin College, he was involved with the debate team, the tennis team, and the Young Republicans Club. Additionally, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, president of the Interfraternity Council, and a class representative in student government. He helped organize a Vietnam War memorial on campus. Since his days at Franklin College, he received an MA in American History and a JD in Law.
Known as a major civil rights advocate in Cincinnati, he works with several organizations including the Cincinnati police department, the Cincinnati Reds, the NAACP, and a few diversity and inter-faith groups. He was also one of the founding members of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati.
This collection consists of an oral history interview with Chip about his legacy, a transcription of this interview, various newspaper articles, and photos from the Franklin College Almanacks (1967-1970).
